ππ DOUBLE CUP GLORY FOR HEYWOODβS JUNIORS! ππ
What a Sunday at Crimble as both our U15s and U18s lifted GMCL silverware β and incredibly, Heywood won both finals without losing a single wicket! π

The U15s produced a fantastic 10-wicket victory over Roe Green in their 100-ball final.
Roe Green posted 95, with Archie Johnson taking 3-13 from his 20 balls and Henry McDermott claiming 2 wickets.
Playing on a centre wicket, Heywood knew running between the wickets and rotating the strike would be crucial β and openers Jake Jacob and Oli Staley executed the chase superbly. Jake retired on 40, while Oli finished unbeaten on 30 as Heywood reached their target with just 4 balls remaining, despite hitting only four boundaries in the entire innings!

Then it was the turn of the U18s, with five of the U15 side having to make a quick turnaround and go again!
An outstanding team bowling and fielding performance saw Greenfield dismissed for 94. Ed Dickinson and Chris Fern took 3 wickets each, with Henry McDermott claiming 2. Skipper Ollie Rawlinson also produced one of the moments of the day with a spectacular one-handed outfield catch! π
Heywood were dominant in reply. Ed Dickinson retired on 50 and Sam Staley finished unbeaten on 33 as victory was secured with an incredible 34 balls remaining.

Two finals. Two trophies. Not a single Heywood wicket lost. ππ
Most pleasing of all was the way both teams bowled, fielded and batted as a unit. Every player contributed and should be immensely proud of their performance.
A healthy Crimble crowd supported the teams throughout the day and got a fantastic glimpse of the future of Heywood Cricket Club.
There is some serious young talent coming through at Crimble. Exciting years lie ahead β and one thing is certain: these young cricketers will get their opportunities in senior cricket at Heywood.
Congratulations to the players, coaches, parents and everyone involved. A brilliant day for the club! πππ
