The big story from the weekend was undoubtedly the first ever game for our newly formed Ladies Team 💚

With over 20 ladies now registered at the club, it was fantastic to see the group come together and represent Heywood CC for the very first time on Sunday morning — and even better, they marked the occasion with a victory against Prestwich! A brilliant start that will give the team huge confidence moving forward. Well done ladies 👏

The 1st XI saw their game away at Mottram abandoned. Heywood had slipped into early trouble at 27-4 from 9 overs before the heavens opened and the weather had the final say.

The 2nd XI recorded an outstanding home win against Worsley. After the visitors reached 49-1, spin twins Mikey Grogan and Ollie Rawlinson ripped through the batting, both claiming 5 wickets as Worsley were dismissed for just 71. In reply, Luke Grimes stole the show on his first appearance of the season, smashing an unbeaten 51 from only 22 balls as Heywood chased the target down inside 12 overs 💥

The 3rd XI suffered a tough afternoon away at Westhoughton, going down by 9 wickets.
